About our long-distance removals service
A long-distance move is a different job from a local one. Travel time changes everything: how the van is loaded, how items are protected, whether the move runs across two days, and what happens if you cannot get into your new property the moment you arrive.
We cover the whole of the UK, and we also move people to and from mainland Europe. European moves need more planning again — crossings, longer driving hours and access at the far end all shape the schedule — so the earlier you tell us, the better the plan.
We plan longer relocations properly. That means agreeing collection and delivery windows that account for driving hours and traffic, loading so that nothing shifts over several hours on the road, and being clear from the outset about what happens if the timings slip.
Packing matters more over distance, because items are in transit for longer and handled more. We usually recommend professional packing for long-distance moves, and can arrange storage at either end if your dates do not line up.

Will my move happen in one day?
It depends on the distance and the size of the property. Some long-distance moves are comfortably a single day; others are better as a two-day move with delivery the following morning. We will tell you which is realistic rather than promising a schedule that cannot be met.
What if I cannot get into my new property straight away?
This is common on longer moves. We can store your belongings until you have access and deliver when you are ready — worth flagging when you first enquire so it is built into the plan.
Is the same team handling the whole move?
Yes. The team that loads your belongings travels with them and unloads at the other end, so nothing changes hands in between.
Do you recommend professional packing for long moves?
Generally yes. Items are in transit longer and handled more over distance, and properly packed belongings travel considerably better. We can do a full pack or just the fragile items.
How do you keep me updated on the day?
We agree how you would prefer to be contacted and keep you posted on progress, particularly if traffic or access is affecting the delivery window.
Do you move to and from Europe?
Yes. We handle relocations between the UK and mainland Europe. These are quoted on the specific route rather than from a standard price list, because the crossing, the distance and the access at both ends all affect it. Tell us the destination country and city when you enquire.
