Moving FAQs
How far in advance should I book my move?
As early as you reasonably can. Fridays and the last few days of the month are the busiest times for removals, and they book up first. If your date depends on a completion that has not been confirmed, tell us — we can hold a provisional date and firm it up later.
Where do you cover?
We cover the whole of the United Kingdom for both moving and cleaning, and we handle relocations to and from mainland Europe. European moves are quoted on the specific route rather than from a standard price list, so tell us the destination country and city when you enquire.
What size property can you move?
Everything from a studio flat to a large family house, plus offices and commercial premises. If a job is larger than one vehicle and team can sensibly handle in a day, we will plan it accordingly rather than promise something unrealistic.
Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
Yes, standard flat-pack items such as beds and wardrobes are dismantled and rebuilt as part of the move. Tell us in advance about anything built-in, unusual or particularly complex so we can allow the time.
What cannot go in the van?
Anything hazardous — fuels, gas cylinders, aerosols, paint, chemicals — plus perishables and plants over longer distances. We will give you the full list when you book so you can make other arrangements.
What if my completion is delayed on moving day?
It happens regularly and we plan for it. Keep us posted as soon as you know anything, and we will work through the options with you, including what is involved if your belongings need to be held.
Are my belongings covered during the move?
Ask us about cover when you request your quote. We will confirm in writing what applies to your specific job before you book, rather than leaving either side to assume.
Cleaning FAQs
Do you bring your own cleaning products and equipment?
We can bring everything needed, or use your own products if you would rather — which some people prefer because of allergies, pets or particular surfaces. Just tell us which when you book.
Do I need to be at home during the clean?
No. Plenty of customers are at work during their clean and arrange access in advance. We agree how access works before the first visit rather than leaving it to the day.
What is the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?
A regular clean maintains a property — kitchens, bathrooms, floors, surfaces and dusting. A deep clean goes considerably further, covering inside cupboards, behind appliances, grout, skirting, door frames and high-level areas. A deep clean resets a property; a regular clean keeps it there.
Can I change what is included in my clean?
Yes. We work to an agreed task list, and if your priorities change — more time in the kitchen, less in the spare room — we adjust it. Tell us and we will update the list.
How many cleaners will come?
It depends on the job. A regular domestic clean is usually one person; deep cleans and end-of-tenancy work often need a team to complete in a day. We confirm this when we quote.
Packing FAQs
Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Yes, materials are included when you book packing. If you would rather pack yourself, we can supply materials separately so you are using proper boxes rather than whatever you can find.
Can I pack some of it myself?
Of course, and it is a common way to keep the cost down. Most people handle wardrobes, books and the loft themselves and ask us to take on the kitchen and anything fragile.
When would you come to pack?
Usually the day before the move, or the same morning for smaller properties. A full house pack may need a day or more, and we agree the schedule with you in advance.
Will you unpack at the other end?
Yes, if you book unpacking. We unpack, place things where you want them and take the empty boxes away — which is often the part people appreciate most.
How will I know what is in each box?
Every box is labelled with its room and contents so it goes to the right place at the other end. We can provide a written inventory if you would like one.
Storage FAQs
Is storage always available?
Availability varies with demand and with how much space you need, so we confirm it for your dates rather than promising it upfront. Ask as early as you can, particularly for larger volumes.
How long can I store my belongings?
From a few days between moving dates through to longer arrangements. Tell us what you have in mind and we will confirm what we can offer and how the pricing works.
Can I access my belongings while they are in storage?
Access is arranged in advance rather than by turning up. If you expect to need particular items, say so before we load so we can pack them somewhere reachable.
What cannot be stored?
Perishables, plants, flammable liquids, aerosols and anything hazardous. We will provide the full list before collection.
Do you collect and redeliver?
Yes. The same team that packs and loads takes your belongings into storage and brings them back out when you are ready, which avoids handling everything twice.
Pricing FAQs
How do you work out a price?
From what the job actually involves: the size of the property, how much there is, the access at both ends, the distance, and any extras such as packing, storage or cleaning. That is why we ask for detail rather than quoting from a property size alone.
Is the quote fixed?
We quote on the information you give us, and we set out what is included. If what we find on the day is substantially different from what was described — considerably more to move, or access that was not mentioned — we will talk to you before doing anything that changes the price.
Do you charge more for weekends or evenings?
Some slots are in higher demand than others, and out-of-hours work can be priced differently. Any difference will be shown in your quote rather than appearing afterwards.
Is it cheaper to book moving and cleaning together?
Booking together is quoted as one job, which is more efficient for us to schedule than two separate visits arranged around each other. Ask for both when you request your quote and we will price it as a combined job.
Do you ask for a deposit?
Payment terms are confirmed in writing with your quote before you commit to anything, so you know what is due and when.
Booking FAQs
How do I get a quote?
Use the quote form and tell us whether you need moving, cleaning or both. It takes a few minutes and asks only what we genuinely need to price the job accurately.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes. Let us know as early as you can and we will move it where possible. The notice period is confirmed with your quote so there is no ambiguity later.
Do you offer short-notice bookings?
Often, particularly for smaller jobs such as man and van work or a single clean. Larger moves need more planning. Ask and we will tell you what is genuinely available.
What happens after I request a quote?
We review the details, come back to you with a price and what is included, and answer anything you are unsure about. Nothing is booked until you confirm.
Can I send photos of what needs moving?
Yes, and it genuinely helps. Photos of large furniture, awkward access and stairs let us quote far more accurately than a description alone. Send your enquiry first, then reply to our email with the photos attached, or send them over WhatsApp.
Moving + Cleaning FAQs
What does booking both actually involve?
One enquiry, one quote and one schedule. We pack and move you, then clean the property once it is empty — or clean the new property before your belongings arrive. You are not coordinating two companies around a single deadline.
Which property gets cleaned?
Whichever you need. Most people clean the property they are leaving, particularly at the end of a tenancy. Others clean the property they are moving into, before anything is unpacked. We can do both.
When does the cleaning happen?
Move-out cleaning starts once the van is loaded and the rooms are clear. Move-in cleaning happens before delivery. We handle the sequencing so the two do not clash.
Can waste removal be included too?
Yes. Clearing what is not coming with you is often the missing piece, and it can be handled in the same booking so you hand back an empty, clean property.
Do I have to book both?
Not at all. You can hire us for moving only, cleaning only, or both. The combined service exists because it is genuinely easier for a lot of people, not because it is required.
Still not sure?
Send us the details of your job and we will answer your questions along with the quote.
Prefer to talk it through?
If you would rather explain the job than fill in a form, get in touch and we will talk through what you need.
